The Pantages Theater opened by a vaudeville magnate in 1930. It was known for its stunning interior, which is an example of highly ornate Art Deco architecture in LA. Since its inauguration, it has been one of the greatest and most popular landmarks of Hollywood. It signifies Los Angeles’ glorious past and adventuresome future.

The theater has a rich history. It is as diverse and grand as the stage and screen fare.  It has been a movie house with live vaudeville acts in between films. It has also been the site of gala premieres. Audiences from various parts of the USA flock to Hollywood Pantages Theater to experience what it feels like to see films in a luxurious setting.  It was the home of the Academy Awards Presentations for 10 long years. Today, the Hollywood Pantages Theater is the home of a legit theater in Los Angeles and the favorite location for movies, television shows, and music videos.

Over the years, the use of Hollywood Pantages Theater has changed significantly. It has undergone several touch-ups such as repainting every inch of the theater. The outer lobby was restored including the missing chandeliers, and the walls were refurbished. It was eventually reopened to the public in September 2000.
