The Treatment

What makes it different from a classic facial

The acne facial is a clinical protocol — not a relaxation treatment. Every step targets active breakouts: medicated cleanse (salicylic or benzoyl peroxide), extended steam to open pores, thorough professional extractions, high-frequency current to kill acne-causing bacteria, acid treatment for deeper clearing, and finally a calming LED or mask to reduce inflammation.

Works best as part of a plan: correcting phase every 2-3 weeks until breakouts settle, then monthly maintenance. Combined with targeted at-home products (we'll recommend medical-grade skincare specific to your acne type), the trajectory of your skin changes over 3-6 months.

Not a replacement for dermatology if your acne is moderate-severe or leaving scars. Best as a complement — derm handles the internal, we handle the surface and prevention.

Best for
  • Active surface acne and breakouts
  • Clogged pores and blackheads
  • Post-inflammatory redness
  • Oily skin with congestion
  • Hormonal or stress-driven flare-ups
  • Preventing new breakouts with consistent treatment

How It Works

The protocol

  1. 01

    Medicated cleanse

Double cleanse with salicylic or benzoyl peroxide wash to reduce surface bacteria.

  2. 02

    Steam + extract

Extended steam (10+ min) opens pores. Professional extractions remove comedones and pustules. The step that matters most.

  3. 03

    High-frequency

Electrical current kills acne bacteria at the surface and in extraction sites — reduces post-extraction inflammation.

  4. 04

    Treat + calm

Salicylic or glycolic acid for deeper pore clearing. Calming LED or mask to reduce redness. Moisturizer + SPF.

FAQ

Acne Facial Questions

What is an Acne Facial?

A clinical facial built around active acne: medicated cleansing, extended steam and extractions, high-frequency electrical treatment (kills acne bacteria), salicylic or glycolic acid treatment, calming LED or mask. Designed to clear active breakouts and prevent new ones.

How often should I come?

In the correcting phase — every 2-3 weeks until breakouts are controlled. Maintenance phase — monthly. Pair with at-home medical-grade skincare (we can recommend specific products for your skin).

Will my skin break out after the facial?

Sometimes yes — a 'purge' from accelerated cell turnover is possible 2-5 days after. This resolves quickly and is part of the clearing process. We'll warn you beforehand so it's not a surprise.

Can acne facials replace prescription treatments?

They complement but don't replace. If your acne is moderate-severe or scarring, you may also need a derm for topical or oral medication. The facial handles extractions, surface clearing, and pore maintenance that medication can't do. Combined treatment beats either alone.

Who shouldn't book this?

If you're on isotretinoin (Accutane), wait 6 months after completing it before any acne facial. If you have cystic acne only (no surface component), medical intervention is the priority, not facials.
