The first time a lot of us heard about “Vampire Facial” was when Kim Kardashian’s face covered in her own blood went viral back in 2013. My first thoughts were “umm… this looks so painful! I’d never do it” until I read about it.
So what’s a vampire facial and why would anyone do it?
Vampire facial is a combination of SkinPen microneedling and PRP (short for Platelet-Rich Plasma). Microneedling is done by puncturing the skin with tiny needles to stimulate collagen production. Microneedling is ideal for addressing issues that impact the top layer of the skin such as scarring, large pores and discoloration. We add PRP to enhance the results. PRP is your body’s growth factors that help rejuvenate the skin.

How does it work?
Your provider will draw your blood then spin that tube in a centrifuge ( a device to separate your red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma also known as PRP) While it’s spinning, you will be numbing for about 30 minutes. And for those of you concerned about pain, It looks worse than it is! Our numbing cream is STRONG and you won’t be feeling much pain.
We then start applying PRP to the face through microneedling and injections (usually smile lines and under eyes). Recovery takes 5-7 days.
