Echo Park

Echo Park is a hidden gem in central Los Angeles. It is usually passed over by the hipster neighbor, Silver Lake. It is the home to many up-and-coming artists, musicians, and writers. Not to mention, one of the Hollywood idols, Leonardo DiCaprio grew up there. Echo Park has built a reputation as one of the great urban developments known for its artistic details, murals, art galleries, vinyl shops, independent bookstores, cafes, organic restaurants, vintage clothing shops, and a spot full of hipsters.

It is one of the many neighborhoods in Los Angeles crossed by Sunset Boulevard. It is strategically located north of downtown and Chinatown borders. If you are planning to go to Echo Park, the best way is to go there by car, although you can always take public transport. Once you are in the Echo Park, one of the things that will grab your attention is the beautiful murals on various neighborhood walls. One of the events you must see there is the Alley Project started by Jason Ostro. He is also the owner of the Gabba Gallery. The Alley Project is an ongoing public art event that recruits 20 local artists to paint animals in the alley.
